A Traditional Dutch styled 6m GRP open sailing dinghy. – a Friesian Tjotter.  Rig Type: Gaff Sloop 154 sq.ft (14.6 sq.m)
Tan sails, pair of leeboards. The builders specify her weight as 385kg, to be sold with her road trailer .
Sat ashore under cover on her  trailer, found to tow easily with a medium to large sized family car.
Aqua Sprint  Co Ltd built around eight  Friesch (Friesian) Totters, during the late 1970s early 1980s, using GRP moulds imported from Holland.  They fitted them all out to a very high specification at their workshop in Teynham, Kent.
The vessels all featured lots of oak ornate carved work in the traditional Dutch style,  using the best materials and fittings.
Her wooden varnished spars were made by Alan Staley of Faversham.  The Traditional tan sails by Wilkinson Sails in Conyer, Kent.
Klaartje (pronounced klar-chee) had been kept on the rivers Stour and Orwell  prior to her present ownership.
Klaartje is easy to rig and interesting to sail, she draws very little and is quite stable with her wide beam, flat bottom and leeboards.
Well suited to sheltered coastal waters or lakes, rivers and estuaries, easy to trail.
She can be launched and recovered from her purpose built trailer whilst keeping the wheel bearings dry.
An interesting traditional vessel that attracts attention wherever she goes.
