Description

‘Billows’ a 21′ half deck day boat, built in 1938 by Phillips of Rye, as a Sailing Trip boat, possibly for Folkestone,  one of the last sailing working boats, built at that Boatyard.
A lifting centreboard gaff sloop, comprehensively  rebuilt  in 1993.She is in excellent condition with all of her brightwork, well varnished,
She is in the water on a swinging mooring in full commissioned, including a new 5hp Mercury outboard with very low hours.

Construction:

     

Hull planked in white pine, oak framed with mahogany thwarts, interior benches, and transom. Her deck fittings are all in bronze.
Clinker planked, paint and varnish finish, inside and out. Dark Blue topsides, cream decks. Red Antifouling. Refitted and relaunched late June 2026
Two older surveys, receipts of work completed since 2017.
Emails from the person who restored her in 1993 plus various other bits of info.
Frank Halls Boat yard have attended to some small jobs, including fitting new bilge keels last year and a new rudder pintle.
