44ft topsail gaff yawl, ex sailing smack Daisy CK12 when built by the Aldous Brothers of Brightlingsea in 1883. She has gone through 3 rebuilds, the most recent overhaul refitting work was carried out by Robertson’s Boatyard of Woodbridge 2014-5.
Summary of works carried out: Removing and refurbishing the mas s and spars, overhauling/rebuilding the engine,overhauling/ repairing the Heads, exterior bright work scraped back and re varnished.
Dusmarie has been much written about by her long term owners the Dixons, her travels through the Canal du Midi!.
To Gallippoli, included in her sale is a rose bowl trophy from 1933 Channel Race….
She worked as an oyster smack until 1932, then went into private ownership. Due to WW II she was abandoned in Sweden returning to claim her in 1946. She was in a bad way calling for a large refit so at this time it was decided to add 3 ft to her overall length , a poop deck and adding a mizzen mast ( making her a yawl, she was relaunched in 1947. She remained in the same family for 60 years sold to another in 1990. Present ownership from 2001.
She is on the National Register of Historic vessels, No 23 in the Classic Boat’s list of Top 250 British Classics.

Completely overhauled in August 2014, only run 10 hours engine hours since.
Shaft driven. Sited in the main saloon amidships sound proofed engine box. This acts as the main companionway under a raised deck house/ navigation station. glazed hard wood and varnished.
Sliding hatch over forward companionway to accommodation in fore deck, sail locker and heads, curtaining for privacy. Under mast deck there’s the Foc’sle cabin with chart table. drawer stowage beneath a full length berth.
Amid ships there is a saloon with two full length opposing bunks with a solid fuel stove on against the forward bulkhead. Main companionway over engine box. full standing headroom at this point otherwise and a fully equipped galley, the aft cabin has two bunks.
