Description

Martine is a 40m Belgian Spitz motor river barge, built in 1956. Constructed of rivetted and welded steel, hull, decks, crew accommodation aft, the wheel house alone is constructed of wood and glass. She was bought straight from trade.
The huge hold area has a headroom of over 2m. It is covered with removed able aluminium hatch covers. The hold is currently being used as a wood store, partial filled with ton bags of ballast too.
She has been sitting on the present mooring for approx 6 yrs. She was bought to Essex here under her own steam in 2013. The mechanics at this time had to be all functional.
Accommodation is a Timonerie style of cabin, provides two cabins with small doubles leading off a saloon / diner. Exit out passed the galley, up steps into the wheelhouse. “The heads” are accessed from the deck.
Engine room access is also accessed from the opposite side decks.
She is ripe for a mega conversion project to a theatre/ studio/ an exhibition space or a very large luxury home..or even 3/4 residential studio apartments?!. Endless ideas, providing there is somewhere to keep her ?!.

Another option would be to chop her down to a more manageable/ affordable size.
