Description
Reynardine is a classic Alan Buchanan Gaff Yawl , built by R M Johnson at Gweek Creek Cornwall IN 1974. Solidly built of pitch pine on oak frames with a laid teak deck over marine ply she is a fast and seaworthy vessel.
She cruises easily at 5-6 knots with a top speed of 8-9 knots. Deceptively spacious below, standing headroom throughout the saloon and the gallery area. There is a double berth in the foc’sle, 2 single berths in the saloon plus a pilot berth.
Large self draining cockpit which will comfortably seat five persons. Last surveyed in April 2017 when she was given a clean bill of health with no requirement for any remedial work.
Reynardine has always been well looked after by all her owners with recent work including; new mast (2008), rewiring (2008-10), reconditioned engine including a new exhaust and prop shafted propeller (2010),
keel bolts(2012), floor bolts and screws (2012) , new electric sea toilet (2012), new Stirling charger/conditioner (2015) and a new running rigging (2016).
She has a virtually complete history including some original drawings. Reynardine has the visual appeal of a yacht 120 years ago with the advantage that she is less than 50years old .
Jon Wainwright (author of “Only so many tides” and well known East Coast sailor) sailed her to Holland and the Baltic. Previous owners have sailed her to Brest, Douarnenez and the Channel Islands
