International Dragon, GBR453, Dragonfly, first launched in 1969, as ” MENACE” in Cowes, Isle of Wight. Built by Borresen’s of Denmark.
She was a Cowes Week winner in the mid 1990’s. Her then owner was a leading Dragon sailor, based in the Solent. She regularly appeared as one
of the leading Dragons when racing and achieved good National results. Her RYA Racing Certificate, is kept up to date.
Last, in the water from September to November 2021, since stored ashore.
Re antifouled during Summer 2022, the covering boards were re varnished. She was not launched due to the owners busy work schedule.
Road trailer in roadworthy condition, bearing were changed in her previous ownership.
Her rigging is in good order. Matt black alloy mast and boom.

Carvel planked hull. Beautiful lines, a sleek Classic racing machine….. Mahogany planked with oak frames. She still has her original tongue and grove decking, which is still serviceable condition, canvas sheathed and painted .
An open boat with a large cockpit and a covered fore deck. Tiller steered with a transom hung rudder. Keel stepped Alloy mast. Mast collar /deck has been replaced with teak 2021
External lead ballast keel. Keel bolts were replaced in her previous ownership. Underwater hull has been epoxy sheathed, making her water tight.
Summer of 2021 the hull was stripped back, 8 coats of Epithanes varnish applied.
Bare wooden sole boards. She has since been kept under cover.
Wooden tiller with extension.
Netted hammock hung from the deck head for stowage of gear.
Fenders/ Mooring warps.
Matt black, Alloy mast and boom, Stainless steel standing rigging. High quality synthetic running rigging.

She also has a heavy overall cover for use when she is afloat.
