Description

28ft Classic wooden Bermudan sloop, designed and built by David Cheverton and Partners, Isle of Wight.  Originally commissioned for a Marine Charter Company as a Family Sail Cruiser, the deck stepped mast gives clear space below decks. The settee berths are 6ft 6 in length and there is standing headroom at the aft end of the accommodation. Her present owner has had a professional restoration of the vessel carried out.
“Works” have included a new self draining cockpit, engine over hauled with new engine beds, new sails, standing rigging and running rigging. Replacement of her decks removing the T & G planking replaced with epoxy sheathed marine ply. The interior is in need of updating, it’s basic, practical and functional.
She requires refitting for the season, presently stored ashore undercover.

Engine

Engine Description: 3 cylinder Volvo diesel inboard engine. 2003, overhauled 2010/11 and given new engine beds plus a coat of Volvo green paint. Electric start. Sited under self draining cockpit and cabin companionway. Shaft driven to fixed propeller, fresh water cooled. Single lever controls, forward and reverse.

Heavy duty battery. New stainless steel fuel tank.

Construction

Carvel planked in Mahogany on Oak frames. All copper fastened.
T&G decks replaced with marine ply, epoxy sheathed and painted.
In her present ownership she has undergone a massive amount of restoration. Works have included:
New self draining cockpit, toe rails and rubbing strake.
The interior is practical basic and workable. A forth berth has been created where there was once a pipe cot over sail stowage in the fore peak.
Deck stepped mast means that there is more useful space below / access for fore peak and heads.

Accommodation:

A new deep open aft self draining cockpit. companionway into the accommodation. Either side small galley area and chart table opposing. Forward two opposing settee berths both with fold down table tops with shelving behind. Separate heads compartment forward of the mast deck bulkhead. Manually pumped Marine toilet opposite a hanging locker. In fore peak there are 2 x single berths with deck hatch over. Standing headroom aft end of coach roof. Foot pump from water tank.
