Description

Tradewind Atoll 25, Commissioned and built by Blondecell  Marine Ltd, Lymington, Hants.  in 1995. Hull No: 5,  A couple of adaptions from the original design specification. She remains in the same ownership after 30years.

A Traditional styled GRP Gaff Cutter, 2 tonnes encapsulated lead ballast keel, a transom stern. Gaff Cutter  rig with  topsail and  retractable bowsprit, a hollow deck stepped laminated wooden mast. A generous deep aft Self draining cockpit.

A capable, proven cruising sea vessel ( in 1997, took part and successfully completed, the Round Great Britain Race.)
Comfortable, clean tidy light and airy accommodation for 4 persons. a spacious deep open aft self draining cockpit. 6ft plus headroom below.
Yanmar 2GM diesel engine ( removed and overhauled 2024), A new triple bladed propeller with rope cutter and shaft installed.

Engine

Engine Description: Yanmar GM 20, 18hp diesel engine. 2 cylinders. Range of 300nm.
3000 engine hours. Electric start. Single lever controls, forward and reverse gears.
Ignition and gauges, Perspex cover  visible in the cockpit.
Engine sited under cockpit, behind companionway steps, sound proofed engine compartment.
Shaft driven, Triple bladed propeller with rope cutter, 15″x 8″, renewed July 2024.
Engine was removed, rebuilt at her last service, July 2024. Stainless steel fuel tank removed and cleaned through 2024.

Construction:

     

2 tonnes encapsulated lead ballast in her keel. Hard chined entirely GRP , made in two parts longitudinal cross sections fused together ( A full photographic record kept. )

Open aft, self draining cockpit. GRP moulded lockers and seating. Trimmed with varnished Teak.
Royal Blue, International Perfection, painted hull A216. White antifouling.

Cream, GRP decks with a Balsa core, Buff coloured Treadmaster non slip deck surface, all removed and replaced 2024. Decks have reinforced strengthening to take winches, but there are none fitted.
Superstructure moulded GRP in cream colour, Raised coach roof from cockpit to the mast sat in stainless steel tabernacle. Very generous cambered side decks.
Wooden rudder hung from the transom, laminated tiller. Teak trim, rubbing strake, cockpit, cockpit locker tops, hand rails.
Varnished wooden washboards x 2  ( A Perspex leaf x 1) .
Professionally fitted out interior, varnished hard wood, wooden sole boards with inspection hatches. Ample stowage cupboards and shelving throughout.
Panelled headlining in off white, all in excellent condition.

 

An entire record of vessel’s build.  All build receipts. Comprehensive files of owners manuals and equipment and gear instructions. Owners choice of modifications to the original design specification:

Installing a larger two 2 cylinder engine. ( Removed and overhauled 2024)
No glazing below on the stowage cupboards, created a hanging wet locker and a dressing bench.
No striped topsail, no spray hood,  no winches.

Accommodation:

1.8m Headroom throughout the accommodation. A very light and airy environment below decks. well vented, insulated hull and headlining panels.

Sliding hatch over the companionway steps into the saloon. Galley to port  chart table / C12v cool box to starboard.

Galley: a double gas burner with oven and grill, sink. ample stowage for galley equipment.

Cold water only at the Heads and Galley basins. Manual pumps.
Eberspacher diesel fed hot air unit. ( requires servicing , vents throughout the accommodation.)

Saloon:  Has opposing upholstery covered settee berths  Starboard side over 6ft in length, portside is shorter and with a trotter box, both berths have lee cloths.

Stowage bins behind and below the seating. Purpose built cupboard and shelving on both sides under the side decks.  Gimballed oil lamp.

A  Teak drop leaf dining table against mast deck bulkhead.   watertight strengthened glass hatches sited over the cabin. Portlights in the coach roof.
Heads: a  Jabsco manual toilet (with black tank). A stainless steel sink, manual pumped water supply, a mirrored bathroom cabinet with watertight glazed hatch over.

A large double berth  fills the entire fore cabin with stowage under, sitting headroom, glazed hatch over head access to foredeck. Hanging wet locker to starboard with a dressing bench and privacy curtaining.

12 v cabin lighting.

Equipment:

A three part overall cover weather proof cover.
A pair of Telescopic legs/ stands, stowed away in cockpit locker.
25lbs CQR anchor with 20fathoms of chain. A chain roller on foredeck,  Anchor chain stowed in chain locker in forepeak.
Stainless steel manual windlass. Main anchor stowed on deck. Kedge anchor in cockpit locker.
Deck fillers for fuel tank, starboard cockpit locker, and water filler, water tank in keel.
Mooring posts, aluminium fair leads and cleats, mooring warps & fenders.
A 2 part work bench and vice stowed in cockpit locker.

2 x heavy duty batteries stowed in a secure box in cockpit locker. Sterling Battery charger. Isolator switches. Shore power ring main, sockets, labelled fuse / switch panel.

      

Rig & Sails:

A Gaff Cutter Rig by F.W.Collars. Spars all wooden Gaff Boom Bowsprit. Hollow section deck stepped mast stood in stainless steel tabernacle.
Main sail cream terylene 20.6m2, lazy jacks,  a blue canvas mainsail cover.  Stay sail 8.3 m2, with Roller reefing furling unit.
Jib 10.6 m2, with Wyckham Martin furler.
Main topsail and a jib top sail. Stowed on deck with canvas cover.
All sails made by Sanders in good/ fair usable condition. Stainless steel standing rigging and chain plates.
Braided polyester running rigging.
Stay sail and jib sheet tracks on decks, Stainless steel Bitts, deck fitted fitted jammers, clutches & cam cleats.

Navigation Equipment:

Navigation chart table table with purpose built stowage for navigation equipment. Night light
Tiller pilot unit.
4 x Gauges visible in the cockpit from helm position.
