Built in 1912 by Gann & Palmer, Teignmouth as a Gentleman’s Yacht her lines taken from the local working fishing boats, the Falmouth Quay Punts.
White Cloud has pitch pine planking on elm frames. She was ashore for over 12 years, re-launched September 2013 after a thorough restoration by Les Weeks lasting nearly six years. For which he received a Transport Trust Restoration Award.
New Beta engine, new rig and sails by James Lawrence of Brightlingsea 2015-16

Launching White Cloud after years of restoration, September 2013

Carvel planked Pitch Pine on Elm frames, splined above the waterline.
An external cast iron keel, an Iroko transom. Some Lead ingots in the bilge as trimming ballast. Long keel with a deep forefoot,
Laminated oak stem, Pine tongue and groove deck with 5mm epoxy sheathed marine ply over the top, painted in light grey. Mahogany coamings.
Deep open aft cockpit,Iroko seats and lockers.
Headroom below . 5ft 4ins.

Sails and Rig:

Rigged as a Gaff Yawl
Keel stepped solid wooden mast.
Gaff, Boom, mizzen mast and boom and Bowsprit.
Carries a Gaff main and a Bermudan mizzen sail ” leg of mutton”
Jib has Wykeham- Martin furling, the stay sail has reefing points.
The main sail rolls around the boom. Lazy Jacks.
Galvanised standing rigging dead-eyes on the main and lashings on the mizzen.
Running rigging of rope.
Main and Staysail by James Lawrence of Brightlingsea, Dacron / Terylene New 2015.
Mizzen sail by James Lawrence New 2017.Jib was refurbished and is in good condition.
