Description
Constance was commissioned and built to an Albert Strange design of 1899, Wenda No: 45 , a design modified by Phil Bolger. Built from new 1997, completed and launched in 2004. Professional boat builder: Fabian Bush of Rowhedge.
Clinker planked wooden construction copper fastenings, Canoe stern, deep open aft cockpit. Lead ballast long keel with a drop centreplate (takes) her draft to 4ft 10ins.
Varnished timber spars, Keel stepped masts, 2 x gaffs, 2 x booms and a fixed bumpkin. A Tiller with rudder stock through aft deck.
A single open cabin with bench berthing, an all varnished finish, basic fit out, minimal gear or domestic services. A traditional brass oil lamp for light inside the cabin, a ship to shore radio and Raymarine echo sounder and log.
A Gaff Yawl, she has three sails all in Traditional tan colour, main sail cover and mizzen, A tent cockpit cover and an overall winter cover , an inflatable dinghy.
She has a a new Honda 2.3hp outboard engine which is externally mounted.
