44ft Essex Smack, Oyster Sailing Smack, ex fishing vessel. New totally rebuilt 2004 by the Testers Boatyard, Hollowshore, Kent. Originally built at the famous Aldous yard of Brightlingsea, Essex.

She is a race winner many times over, now back in the water  having completed her annual re fit… Ready for the season of Smack Racing and Classic Regattas. Dredging Matches……( for Local Oysters)

Rig, spars and sails all new 2005, she has a total of 13 sails, a new topmast spinney is presently on order. Since her rebuild she has out competed most of the field of smacks currently in commission. Winners pennants fill a sail bag……. She is carvel planked of Iroko on Oak, carries approx 7 ton lead ballast. She has a 2011 Beta Marine 25hp diesel engine, shaft driven to a  varifold propeller.

On deck everything is traditional and requires manual strength and dexterity to get her set up and sailing. Included in her sale is a Zodiac Futura mk2 with a 30hp Mariner outboard. This is useful for ferrying crew about and maneuvering the vessel up under her counter, when required. She has a 44ft deck length add her bowsprit gives her an overall measurement of 65ft.

Accommodation below there is full standing headroom under the coach roof. 2 x chemical toilets, Burgundy covered berth cushioning.

She provides 3 cabin areas, 6 berths. double gas hob with oven. Asst’d pots, pans, cutlery ,crockery etc.
